Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to provide the Service:

  • Account identity. When you sign in with Google authentication, we receive your name, email address, and profile image to create and secure your account. We do not receive your Google password.
  • Payment information. Subscriptions and credits are processed by Stripe. Stripe handles your card details directly; we store only a customer reference and billing status, never your full card number.
  • Story content. The prompts you submit and the stories we generate — text, illustrations, and audio — are stored on Amazon S3 so you can replay them from your library.
  • Voice input. If you use voice to dictate a prompt, audio is transcribed using Whisper speech-to-text. We use the transcription to generate your story.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not store medical, diagnostic, or special-needs data. Katha Page offers neurodivergent-accessible story modes (for example, autism-friendly and ADHD-friendly pacing), but selecting a mode is a content preference only. We do not ask for, infer, or retain any diagnosis, clinical record, or health information about you or your child.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to authenticate you, generate and store your stories, process payments, provide support, and keep the Service secure. We do not sell your personal information.

Service Providers

We rely on trusted providers to operate the Service, including Google (authentication), Stripe (payments), Amazon Web Services (storage), and our AI and speech-to-text providers. These providers process data only to perform services on our behalf.

Children's Privacy

Accounts are intended for parents and caregivers, not children. Stories created for a child are managed under the caregiver’s adult account. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

Data Retention and Your Choices

We retain your stories and account data while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated content, after which we remove it except where retention is required by law.
